Where are we going?
And why are we in this handbasket?
Some folks believe this country is going to hell in a hand basket – whatever that means. But not us. Sure, we’ve got some serious problems, but we can solve them. We’ve just got to work together better and stop fussing so much.
Back in 1961, President Eisenhower warned us about the dangers of a growing military-industrial complex. And, he was right! Today, we’ve got something maybe even more powerful and potentially dangerous - a political-industrial complex. It’s full of people, many of them making big money, who exploit partisan politics for their own purposes instead of for the good of the country. And, the parties have become poisonous. The Democrats and Republicans tell us we’re a nation divided – red vs. blue, right vs. wrong, good vs. evil. The media covers it like an SEC football game focusing on winners and losers.
Well, we’re not buying it. In fact, we’ll bet that the majority of Americans would generally agree on some common sense solutions to many of our most critical problems. Neither party will lead this effort. That’s why we’re launching the W.H.I.G. Revolution!
We have no connection to the old Whig Party or any other party for that matter. We’re just a group of people who want to elevate our political discourse, not distort it. To engage the American people, not manipulate them. To solve our problems, not exploit them. Our name is an acronym that represents what we hope to accomplish:
We’re Helping to Inform the Governed
We’re Helping to Improve the Government
It’s time to prove to ourselves and to the world that we can actually solve problems again. And, as we try to form our “more perfect union,” we’re going to need everyone – politicians, the media, and citizens – to work together better.
So, please join us. We’ve got some perfectin’ to do!
